Kiosk design concept

we are still working on our kiosk Which I like it , I am going to learn alot about designing the space in this project . 3 of us have different idea and we try to manage it in to one which is the best. the concept is canopy of the trees, in which your going to imagine the layers, it can be the layers of braches, leaves , and even lights.
We are going to design an square shape kiosk in which 2 walls and the ceiling are the shape of branches and trunk of tree, so the negative part of the branches on the walls and ceiling let the light reflecting into the space, also there are LED lights that embeded between the wall layers that can add the reflection effect.
For the display we came to that idea of vase that hold the branches with the candle on top and 3 tester section, but now we are thinking of how we can design different display in which customer can experience the whole space when they walk in,should be in different places of our kiosk, or in the center?

Project #5 (Kiosk Designing)

In this project Lynn, Juli, and I are working toghether. We have an idea of designing an eco freindly kiosk, and we pick Nail Polish as an our object Which is non toxic.
We are going to design a package for three nail polish, so reduce the waste. we try to have more organic shape in our space, and the shape of our kiosk is circular.
We have a thought to design a manicure section, so customers can try the color after they bye it,and maybe get a free service after purchaseing.
During last week I was working on packaging and display, for the display I came up with two different idea one is the three level of display that on each we put one set, and the other one is the cylinder shape which is devided in two from half and the height is not the same, the taller one is the place for package and the lower one is for testers.

This project is over, and I experienced a lot while I was working. I experienced different media and technique that some of them did work and some of them did not. Here are some photos.

Display project

I was working on my display all day today, actually I have started my final model I had a good critic last session and I think I am in a good direction now. My display scale changed, I am going to have 1/2" =1'-0" instead of full scale, and I think it is better becouse with the full scale the flowers became too big but now it looks nicer . also I will have more flower for the cases, and they are all the same size.
I had a hard time to glue the centre of flowers together, so I used a clear tape, and  it looks good. now I need to start my vase.

During the display project I realized that makeing model helped me alot to develop my design ,and i really enjoy to make model.

Display project

This assignment is about design a display system. The display has to hold the eyeshadow case. I start my exploration by designing a counter top circle model with different size of flowers. After that I decided to design a vase with multiple flower that held eyeshadow case, instead of circle model.

I painted a sheet with water color and cut it into different size and then I want to make the vase with them from dark to light tint.

Finally I decided to make an eyeshadow case with sliding doors for my final model. I had a hard time to decide and to make it.At first I started with a square shape box, which was not appropriate for this design, so the circle idea came up to my mind, which was another problem because making case like that was not easy. Making models help me to solve the problem, and I think I learned alot during the process.

Process of packaging

I am working on my packaging for the eye shadow. The purpuse of this assignment is to make a new package for the product that it has already come in a best package, so It is not easy . At first I start with a square black shaped box with a white cammellia, but it became too much like a CHANEL box. Since my concept is Cammellia f lower, a circle shape box is more appropriate .I purchase chipboard and dawels to make that. Honestly cutting a circle on chipboard is hard, and I messed it up alot.I made a circle shape box and I colaj the cammellia on the top.After making the circle shape box I started to think of a case for eye shadow with three levels that opens side to side similar to the way that flowers open.

Because my target audiences are the people who like luxury so, I tried to make my box looks different and beautiful. In my opinion the first thing that people see, while they are shopping, is the package , so its part of a product that they pay for, and it has to be somthing that attract them. I tried ENAMELcolor on one of my box, and on the other one I used GLASS BASE GEL, which gives a texture to the box.Also I covred in the box with Velvet

 fabric which is a simbol for luxury.
